Winter 2024 Wrap Up
A Strong Start to 2024
We started this season in the middle of January with almost 2 feet of snow! It was so fun to need to wear snowshoes just to walk around our property while we were training our staff. However, our winter wonderland only lasted about two weeks and then we were back to mostly bare ground for the remainder of the season. But this didn't stop a single student, parent, or teacher from getting the absolute most out of their LOC experience. We had many outstanding groups this season and we are so grateful for their good attitudes and willingness to be flexible. We still played at the dunes, hiked to Pyramid Point, learned to work together during Team Building, built forts in the woods, became better at identifying animal tracks in Tracking, and so much more!

LOC Staff
Our incredible LOC Staff were hard at work all season to help each student work on our three LOC Goals: Do Your Best, Be Considerate, and Have Fun. The beauty of our Winter season is that most of our schools are here for a full four or five days, which gives the students so much precious time for growth and learning more about themselves and their peers. The LOC Staff did an awesome job maintaining enthusiasm and creativity despite the lack of snow, guiding every group through the challenges of each activity, while providing a safe and nurturing learning environment. Plus, they are a hilarious bunch of goofballs that every student and adult loved to be around!
LOC is celebrating 30 years in 2024!
To celebrate, we will be holding an open house event in October where all will be welcome to come and enjoy a beautiful fall day on the zip line, climbing wall, and by taking a hay ride!
