Frequently Asked Questions

  • We are very capable of dealing with most major allergies, i.e. gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian, vegan, etc. It becomes more of a challenge when an individual has a wide combination of allergies, or if soy is a problem (since soy is in so many things). In these cases we may discuss having the participant bring their own food to either supplement or substitute entirely what we can offer in our Dining Room. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our Director, Katie Duntley at katie.d@locprograms.org

  • Our preferred method is a single check from your school or organization. You will receive an invoice after your trip with the final balance due and then a check can be mailed to us. We do accept credit cards, but there will be a 3% fee.

  • Yes, we do have Tuition Assistance available for Title 1 eligible schools. For more info, take a look at our Tuition Assistance page.

  • Yes! We accept all major credit cards, as well as Apple Pay and other tap to pay options.

  • Yes, if you would like to purchase something from our online store and then have your child pick it up when they’re here, that’s absolutely fine.

  • Yes all our cabins have electricity and outlets. Our bluff cabins and forest cabins may only have one or two outlets, so bringing an extension cord could be helpful.

  • As long as it’s not a torrential downpour or thundering/lightning, we still go out and do the activities as planned! Rain gear is on the packing list, so please make sure you come prepared.

  • We’re in the north woods, so there are bugs and other small critters. It depends on the season, but it’s always good to bring bug spray and to keep any and all food/snacks stored in our camp kitchen. We do NOT recommend keeping food in your cabin. This can attract pests like, ants, raccoons, chipmunks, mice, etc. Black bears and other larger animals are infrequent and typically afraid of humans, so they’re nothing to worry about.

  • Please be in touch with your child’s teacher to coordinate this, our staff do not coordinate late drop offs or early pick ups. When you arrive at camp there won’t be great cell service, so please coordinate with the teacher on where to pick up your child in advance. The Big Tree/Parking Lot is an easy to find spot. If you don’t know where to go when you arrive, please stop in our front office, the white farmhouse (9am-5pm).

  • We ask that all vehicles stay in the camp parking lot. We’ve had to deal with major erosion issues in the past few years, so we do not want personal vehicles driving all over camp. If you’re worried about carrying your luggage to your cabin, multiple trips are encouraged.

  • Unfortunately, we do not. Since we are a 501c(3) non-profit, all of our programming must be “on mission,” and renting our facility in this way does not comply. We are also a dry campus (no alcohol), which typically rules out weddings and other big events.
