Spring 2024 Wrap Up

A Spring to Celebrate!

After a relatively mild Winter, Spring seemed to come early this year. It was so fun to see the morels and wildflowers popping up a couple weeks early. It seemed like the trees leafed out practically overnight! Once again, Spring brings the return of Pond Study, one of our very favorite activities! The beavers seemed to be extra active this year, as there were downed trees everywhere at the Kelderhouse pond. We also had the chance to do some Spring Canoeing down the Crystal River, which is always a blast. Finally, we saw so many students conquer their fears on our high adventure activities, like the High Ropes Course. It's always an incredible experience to witness a student who is clearly nervous about heading up into the trees but still pushes forward and takes that big step outside their comfort zone. The moment they realize what they've accomplished and what they're capable of is huge! This is where character is built and we love getting to be a part of it.

LOC Staff

Our incredible LOC Staff were hard at work all season to help each student work on our three LOC Goals: Do Your Best, Be Considerate, and Have Fun. We started the season with a small but mighty crew, and as the weeks went on, we acquired more and more staff who joined us for the last few weeks of the season. This is when we welcome some larger groups of 100 participants or more! We always say that our program wouldn't be what it is without our incredible staff, and this spring season was no different. We are so grateful for their hard work, positive attitude, and personal engagement with each and every student that comes to LOC. They absolutely rock!

We're celebrating 30 years in 2024!

To celebrate, we will be hosting a Fall Festival Saturday, October 5, an open house event where all will be welcome to come and enjoy a beautiful fall day on the zip line, climbing wall, and by taking a hay ride! For more information, head to our website here.

We also have special 30-Year Anniversary merchandise that is available all year in our online and in-person store. If you're interested in checking out the online store, click here!
